Warren Burns, 91

Warren Townsend Burns, age 91, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2024 in El Paso, Texas. Warren was preceded in death by his parents Louis L. Burns & Edna L. Burns and his wife Juanita W. Burns. He is survived by his children Cynthia D. Burns and Warren T. Burns, Jr., (Edwina H. Burns) his granddaughter Catherine E. Boyle (Shane A. Boyle), and his great-grandson Maverick A. Boyle. Warren is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

Warren was named after a U.S. Civil War gunsmith “Uncle Dick Warren” who worked on his grandfather’s ranch in the late 1800s. Warren was born and grew up in Brady, Texas and graduated from Brady High School and soon joined the U.S. Air Force. Warren went on to attend the University of Illinois, Chicago, Illinois, North Texas College, Denton, Texas and Sul Ross State University, Alpine, Texas. In his early years, Warren worked at Lockheed Martin Aircraft Corporation and for Mid Continent Oil Supply Company. Warren later moved to El Paso, Texas and in 1954 cofounded El Paso Factory Outlet Tire Corporation (retail, wholesale and export tire sales). Additionally, Warren started one of the first twin plant operations between the U.S. and Mexico and was involved in farming and ranching operations both in the U.S. and Mexico (Three Bar Ranch, Blue Water Ranch, and others). Warren was bilingual and a dual citizen of both the United States and the Republic of Mexico. He was involved in mining projects, fabrication and installation of AT&T communications towers (International Metal Products), various real estate ventures, and construction projects in both the U.S. and Mexico. Warren served on various bank boards (Texas Commerce Bank/Chase Bank) in El Paso, Texas. Warren enjoyed collecting antique autos and in his earlier years, he was a pilot and enjoyed flying various aircraft.

In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made, in Warren’s name, for the preservation of the Mount Tabor/Brown Cemetery near Fredonia, Texas. Contributions can be made and mailed to Mr. Alvin L. Bolton, 6363 CR422, Rochelle, Texas 76872.

Funeral services shall be privately held for Warren and his immediate family.
