Diane Peavy, 78

Diane Peavy, age 78, of Voca, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023, in Brady. Diane was born Sept. 18, 1944, in Bryan, to Raymond Leroy Parsons and Virginia (Jones) Parsons. She grew up in the Bryan/College Station area in a strong Christian home and graduated from A&M Consolidated High School in 1963. She attended Sam Houston University.

She married Terry Peavy on June 3, 1967, in College Station. Diane and Terry moved to Voca in 1971 where they ranched together. She was also a teacher’s aide and bus driver for the Brady Independent School District for several years. She had a gift for connecting with animals. She especially loved horses and enjoyed riding, trail challenges and gardening. She was a Godly woman. She was a member of the Sunset Ridge Church of Christ where she loved to sing. She was active in the ladies classes and the Heart of Texas Bible Camp.

Funeral services for Diane Peavy will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at the Sunset Ridge Church of Christ with Virgil Webb officiating. Interment will follow at the Voca Cemetery in Voca. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels. Pallbearers will be Cody Peavy, Jarrett Theis, Hunter Curry, Hayden Curry, Steven Johnson and Clark Pennington.

Diane is survived by her loving husband, Terry Peavy of Voca; son, Cody Peavy and wife, April, of Deming, NM; daughter, Camille Theis and husband, Jarrett of Orange; brother, David Parsons and wife, Tommy, of Lubbock; grandchildren, Hunter Curry, Bryton Theis, Maddie Curry and Hayden Curry.
