After falling behind in the first half of the game, a concerted effort in the second half led by Seth Bozeman and Toby Sanchez boosted the Brady JV Bulldogs to victory, 46-31, here against Blanco last Friday night. Brady opened up with difficulty finding the bottom of the net and Blanco put up a solid second quarter effort to lead the game at intermission, 19-16. “Blanco came to play and we had to step up our play in the second half,” said coach Terry Bean. “Dylan Jacoby and Trent Barley knocked down a couple of three-pointers in the third quarter and this seemed to spark others to chime in. We put more points on the board in the third quarter than the whole first half. “I think the guys just had to make up their mind of what they wanted to do. They dominated the floor with good defensive pressure and crashing the boards. We did plenty of things wrong but came through all the obstacles with a win. “Seth Bozeman and Toby Sanchez had an outstanding second half to help raise the level of play.” The win boosted the JV squad to a season record of 16-4 with a 6-1 district record. Score by quarters: Brady 7 9 17 13’46 Blanco 5 14 4 8’31 Leading scorers for Brady: Greg Torres 12, Seth Bozeman 10, Trent Barley 9, Toby Sanchez 6 and Dylan Jacoby 5.
