Bessie Pearl Lee, 90, of Midland and formerly of Brady, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, in Midland. Graveside services were held Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Rest Haven Cemetery with Rev. Sheldon Johnson officiating. Services were under the direction of Heritage Funeral Homes. She was born Jan. 27, 1917, in Brady to B.W. and Susie (Williamson) Allen. She married Leon Lee Dec. 20, 1934, in Brady. She was a postal clerk, a master quilter, member of the PTA, member of the Home Demonstration Club, Pink Ladies and very active in her church. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Lou Blakeney and husband, Mickey, of Midland; a son, Larry Wayne Lee and wife, Keena, of Killeen; three sisters, Dorothy McEnroe of Stephenville, Betty Beeman of Brownwood and Barbara Fannin of Austin; two brothers, Andrew Allen and wife, Cleta, of Brady and James Allen and wife, Gladys, of Houston; four grandchildren, Scott Dennis, Lisa Schimmels, Chris Johnson and Shadna Wise; 10 great- grandchildren, Bethany Valencia, Chuck Dennis, Tonya Roach, Brandon Dennis, Zachery Grady, Xana Stinton, Robert Schimmels, MaKenzie Johnson, Amanda Schimmels and Reagan Wise; five great-great- grandchildren, Brendan Valencia, Joseph Dennis, Alysa Dennis, Mariah Dennis and Jillian Roach; numerous nieces, nephews and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Lee; two grandchildren and six brothers and sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Midland, 911 W.
