The Brady Rotary Club met Tuesday, Jan. 15, at noon at the Heart of Texas Depot Restaurant with President Mike Schaffner presiding. Brady High School senior Dara Fairchild was present for her second visit. She informed the club of her intention to attend either Abilene Christian University and major in youth ministry or Texas A&M University and major in biomedical science. Program chairman Steve McCarn introduced Athletic Director Coach Glen Jones. Coach Jones spoke to the group of the importance of working with students: playing as a team, no jealousy among kids and building good relationships between students and coaches. He also informed us of the importance of students working to improve, both girls and boys and that the UIL re-alignment of all Texas schools will be announced Feb. 1. The $2 bill was won by two Rotarians, Mark Magee and Bob Rice, who both knew that Pork Chop Ridge was the name of the battle in Korea in 1953. Flags will be put out in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Monday, Jan. 21. Program chairman for the Jan. 22 meeting will be Lynn Munden.
