James R. (Big Jim) Perry, 56, of Silverstreet, S.C., died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at home. He was born Dec. 30, 1951, in Brady, to Lena Mae and the late Marion Ray Perry. He was an employee of International Paper Company of Newberry, S.C. Mr. Perry is survived by his wife, Rhonda (Bush) Perry; his mother, Lena Mae Perry of Brady; a daughter, Julie Davis and husband, Kristopher, of Columbia, S.C.; a son, James Ray (Jamie) Perry, Jr. and wife, Angela, of Silverstreet; a sister, Ann Tedrow and husband, Lemoine, of Menard; two nieces, Marlena Bush of Plato and Tonya Jo Garland and husband, Dicky, of Newberry; a nephew, Rustin Scott Bush of Dallas; a brother-in-law, Charles Bush and wife, Gwen, of Brady; grandchildren, James Ray (Jody) Perry III and Wyatt Samuel Davis and a great- nephew, Jacob Reid Garland. He was predeceased by his great-nephew, Caleb Ryan Bush. Funeral services for James R. Perry will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, at Whitaker Funeral Home by the Rev. Eddie Bledsoe. Interment will be in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 18, at Whitaker Funeral Home.
