A year after opening, the GED classes sponsored by the McCulloch County Adult Literacy Council have proved to be extremely successful. One advantage of the program is the fact that it is free; each student is provided with a workbook and sole use of a computer during each class period, without charge. Also, class hours are convenient’after normal working hours’from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, in the portable classroom located near the old South Ward Elementary School. In addition, these hours are flexible, allowing students to adjust their class hours to match their work schedules or family needs. A qualified instructor is available full time to assess students’ needs and advise and direct them until they reach the point where they are ready to take the GED exam. At this time, three openings are available for new students. If you still need your GED, the new year is the perfect time to consider this program.
