Former Bradyites celebrate 60th wedding anniversary

The children of Neal Watson and Edith (Peace) Self are proud to announce the 60th wedding anniversary of their parents. The Selfs were married in Anniston, Ala., Jan. 10, 1948. The wedding took place in the home of Mrs. Self’s brother, Paul Peace, who also performed the ceremony. Self is the son of Jonathan and Alice V. Self and was raised in Anniston, Ala. Mrs. Self is the daughter of William and Maude Peace and was raised on Little Sand Mountain, Chatooga County, Ga. The Selfs lived in Brady for about eight years. Mr. Self was the plant manager at Loadcraft, and Mrs. Self was a registered nurse at the old Brady Hospital. They were members of the First United Methodist Church. They have five children, Mary Louise Beeman, Durango, Colo.; David Edward Self, Claxton, Ga.; Rebecca Elizabeth Self, Hazelhurst, Ga.; William Scott Self, Claxton, Ga.; and Sara Alice Garner, Cedartown, Ga. They also have eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
