Villegas earns degree from McMurry University

Charles Joe Villegas (CJ) received a Bachelor of Science degree from McMurry University, Saturday, Dec. 15. CJ is a 2004 graduate of Brady High School. While at McMurry, he was a member of the football team where he started at defensive back for three years before making the transition to strong safety his senior season. Some of the awards and accomplishments he has received while at McMurry include: ‘ 2004 Division III Football National Special Teams Player of the Week ‘ 2005 Intramural Supervisor of the Year ‘Division III Football National Co-Defensive Player of the Week ‘ Don Hansen’s Gazette National Player of the Week ‘Tied for McMurry’s single game interception record ‘ 2006-2007 Tribe Guide ‘ 2007 Fellowship of Christian Athletes Peer Leader ‘ Varsity Football Team Captain ‘ ASC Track Conference Champions ‘ McMurry Interception Career Record (2004-2007) ‘ Selected 1 of 32 participants to attend the 2008 American Football Coaches Association Convention in Anaheim, Calif. Villegas’ future plans include coaching and teaching or coaching as a GA at the collegiate level while working on his masters. He is the son of Richard and Mickey Holloway of Coleman.
