Rotary Spokes

The Brady Rotary Club met Tuesday, Dec. 18 at noon at the Heart of Texas Depot Restaurant. Brady High School Student Rotarians present for their first visits were Brittanie White and LaTrisha Vara. Brittanie White is the daughter of Tom and Melissa Hail and has three sisters, Chelsea, Alyssa and Hannah. She is a member of Brady Community Church. She participates in track, softball, cross country, Famed Brady Bulldog Band where she is flag captain, FCA, FCCLA, Youth Alive, color guard and SPOOKS. She is a regional cross country qualifier, athlete of the month and academic all district in softball. She plans to enlist in the United States Navy and major in mass communications and become a public affairs officer. LaTrisha Vara is the daughter of Maria and John Vara and has a sister, LaFonda, and a brother, John. She is a member of Believers Christian Center. She participates in SPOOKS, Famed Brady Bulldog Band where she is a member of the flag corp and the spanish club. Her plans are to become a dental hygienist. Rotarian Mark Magee gave an interesting talk on the Fundamentals of Investing. He showed a film on Christmas Past and war-time activities in World War II. Part of the film explained how the Italians and Japanese joined forces. The $2 bill was won by Mark Magee for knowing that Siberia was the country that held the most fresh water. There will be no meeting on either Dec. 25 or Jan. 1, 2008. The next meeting will be Jan. 8, 2008. Program Chairman for the Jan. 8 meeting will be Bill Mann.
