Members and guests of the Rochelle Study Club gathered at the Rochelle Community Center Dec. 3 for the club’s annual Christmas party. The center had been festively decorated by members of the social community who were the hostesses for the evening. Following a sumptuous covered dish meal, Gwen Ragsdale and Marilyn Powell led the group in a sing-along of favorite Christmas carols; and Rev. Ken Barr shared the Christmas story from the book of Luke, then related it to the present day, asking if there would be room at the inn if Jesus were born today. The evening culminated in an extremely entertaining Chinese auction gift exchange. The work of hostesses Glenda Ranne, Margaret Draycott, Carol Johnson, Betty Jo Myers and Vonnie McCain is deeply appreciated by all. Members and guests attending were Gloria and Ken Barr, Dolores and Roy Barton, Jane Bohls, Phyllis and Alvin Bolton, Sarita Cox, Margaret and James Draycott, Eloise Ficke, Carol Johnson, Betty and Jean Dale Knutson, Judy and James Mathews, Ann and Kyle Moseley, Betty Jo Myers and Jack Shelby, Sara and Willie Myers, Vonnie and Murray McCain, Kay Porter, Marilyn Powell, Elizabeth and Bob Posey, Myrna and Bud Powell, Gwen Ragsdale, Glenda and Joey Ranne, Linda and Al Roesler.
