Tree trimming crews with McCoy’s Tree Service contracted by the City of Brady to trim trees around power lines started on the job Monday only to be diverted to Oklahoma City to assist emergency crews battling severe ice storms. According to Brady City Manager Merle Taylor, the tree crews were notified Monday of the chance that they would possibly be reassigned due to the severe weather. The tree crews left Brady around 5 a.m. Tuesday headed for Oklahoma and, according to Taylor, they are expected to be on that assignment for as long as two weeks. ‘This will delay our trimming efforts, but this is a situation that is pre-determined. If emergency situations arise, those instances take priority.’ When the crews are back in Brady, additional notice along with door hangers will be placed in areas that will be affected by the workers.
