Tree crews coming next week

Beginning Monday, Dec. 10 and continuing through the middle of January, the City of Brady, in a cooperative program with the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) will be utilizing McCoy Tree Surgery to prune trees near electric power lines. Trees and power lines don’t mix’trees growing too close to electric lines can cause damage or interrupt service to you or your neighbors and proper clearances must be maintained to assure safety and to help avoid power outages. McCoy Tree Surgery specializes in vegetation management for the electric utility industry. All trimming performed by the company conforms with recommendations of the world’s leading tree expert, Dr. Alex L. Shigo, former chief scientist and pioneering project leader for the U.S. Forest Service. In addition, the company complies with the requirements given by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and American National Standards Institute. If trees in your area are to be trimmed, vegetation management specialists employed by McCoy will notify you by hanging a card on your doorknob. If you have questions or special concerns which you would like for the McCoy people to know prior to trimming in your area, please contact them at the phone number listed on the door hanger 1-800-462-2393.
