The Heart of Texas Memorial Hospital is being honored as a long-time member of the Texas Hospital Association. The hospital was one of four throughout the state to receive 75-year membership awards from the Association in 2007. The award was presented last week to the hospital’s chief financial officer, Linda Hudson, by Della Vallejo, THA’s membership manager. ‘The Heart of Texas Memorial Hospital has joined the ranks of 27 other Texas hospitals that have achieved 75-year membership status in THA,’ said Vallejo. ‘This is a significant milestone, and THA thanks the hospital for its long-term support.’ Founded in 1930, the Texas Hospital Association is the leadership organization and principal advocate for the state’s hospitals and health care systems. Based in Austin, THA enhances its members’ abilities to improve accessibility, quality and cost- effectiveness of health care for all Texans. One of the largest hospital associations in the country, THA represents more than 85 percent of the state’s hospitals and health care systems, which employ some 320,000 health care professionals statewide.
