Rotary Spokes

The Brady Rotary Club met Tuesday, Nov. 27 at noon at the Heart of Texas Depot Restaurant. Student Rotarian, Bailey Bozeman was present for her second visit. She informed the club of her intention to attend a smaller university such as Angelo State University for pre-med classes, then attend Baylor University to become an anesthesiologist. President Mike Schaffner shared an e-mail from the Rotary District Governor thanking the club for their hospitality during his visit last week. Tom Swearingen reported on his visit to the Ballinger Rotary Club and of plans the two clubs will be making to participate in cooperative Rotary activities. Susan Horton discussed plans for the club’s annual Christmas party to be held Monday, Dec. 10. The club Christmas project will be supporting Helping Hands’ efforts to provide food items for senior citizens. There will be no noon meeting Tuesday, Dec. 11. In other reports, Lynn Munden reported that the Brady High School Interact Club collected a large number of canned goods last week to support Helping Hands. Sue Owens also reminded members of the raffle ticket drawing to be held Dec. 4. Program Chairman Martin Leatherwood presented the program on the differing options available for funeral services The $2 bill was won by Brian Wiggins for knowing that the University of Texas and Texas A&M have played 114 football games against each other. Program Chairman for Dec. 4 will be Connie Locklear.
