City workers go above and beyond the call of duty

Dear Editor, I would like to take this opportunity to commend two of our city employees that I feel have gone above and beyond the call of duty. On October 8, a large pecan limb fell on three cars parked in front of my house. The owners of the cars were guests in my home. Randy Barrows was my ‘knight in shining armor.’ He found the mess, let me know about the damage it had caused and called Joe Solis. Joe brought the cherry picker truck and the two of them proceeded to get the limb off of the cars and cut it into manageable pieces which they hauled off the next morning. I don’t know what I would have done without them. It was after 6 in the evening, and I know that it would have been impossible for us to get the limb off of one of the cars without help. It would have been easy for Mr. Barrows to drive on and say, ‘I’m off duty,’ but he didn’t. The City of Brady is fortunate to have such caring and efficient employees who seek opportunities to be available after hours to help citizens in need. Please give them the recognition they deserve. Thank you, Caroline Parks Brady, TX
