Tommasa Samora, 86, of Brady, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, in Brady. Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 3, at Leatherwood Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tony Huerta, Jr., Bro. Francisco Felips, Bro. Fernando Nandin and Bro. Felix Benavides officiating. She was born Feb. 8, 1921, in Corpus Christi to Lucas and Nicholasa (Cantu) Mungia. She married Benancio Samora April 17, 1968, in Brady. She was a homemaker and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Maurico (Wicho) Castillo and wife, Elodia and Jose (Joe) Castillo and wife, Melinda, both of Brady; two daughters, Petra Huerta and husband, Tony Sr., and Janie Samora, both of Brady; two brothers, Isidro Mungia of Victoria and Juan Mungia of Port Lavaca; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Esther Samora and a great- granddaughter. Pallbearers were Maurice Castillo, Jr., Daniel Castillo, Joe Oscar Castillo, Jose Antonio Castillo, Steven Castillo and Bobby Castillo. Honorary pallbearers were Sean Castillo, Jeremy Castillo, Chris Solis and Wille Wade Nuncio. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
