The Brady freshmen hosted the Comfort Bobcats Thursday night and took a first half lead that would never be challenged as they sent the Cats home with their tails between their legs, 30-8. Brady went to the scoreboard first when David Hernandez got loose on a 37-yard touchdown run, but the point after touchdown failed. Comfort answered with a 78-yard kick-off return, then took the lead by adding the two point conversion with 5:38 left in the first quarter. This would be the last time for the Bobcats to find the endzone. With 0:58 left in the quarter Hernandez found the zone again with a three-yard run and also added the two-point conversion. The Bulldogs ended the quarter 14-8. In the second quarter, Brady’s Isaac Conrad left the Bobcats in a wake of dust when he caught a pass from Chaney McBee and took it in for six, 88 yards down the field. Hernandez added the conversion which brought the halftime score to 22-8. In the third quarter, the Bulldogs weren’t finished scoring, and Conrad broke on a 16-yard run then topped it off with a successful two-point conversion. “Our defense played pretty well this week with Crockett Jurrius having three interceptions Jonathan Sandoval had one and Isaac Conrad and Chaney McBee both recovered one fumble each,” said coach Terry Bean.
