Weekly improvement beginning to shine through

First of all let me congratulate the Famed Brady Bulldog Band on their accomplishments this fall. As most of you already know, they were selected to advance to the area marching contest held this past Saturday in Belton. They made it to the finals that night earning a 7th place finish in the area. I was not able to attend, but I did watch them practice one morning from the top of the home bleachers. It is amazing what Mr. C. and Mr. H. have accomplished with those kids. They expect excellence from every single member’much like we do in athletics. I’ve talked on numerous occasions to Mr. C. about this particular group. I know he may not say it much out loud, but I know he has to be proud of where they ended up after some tough early year issues. Congratulations FBBB! Last Friday night saw your Brady Bulldogs notch another big district win blasting Sonora 32-0. It was really a good effort against a pretty good football team and a tremendous football program. Sonora had struggled offensively all season and Friday was no different. Our defense really stepped it up and held a team scoreless for the first time all season. But Sonora’s defense was another thing. They had come in only giving up an average of 9 points per game. We had 25 by halftime. Hats off to our offensive line which continues to improve week by week. The Comfort Bobcats are next on the schedule. They run one of those ‘metroplex’ offenses whereby the scoreboard seems to light up each time they have the ball. Passing is their forte although they rushed for over 200 yards last week against Mason. Our defense will be tested to the max. But we are playing fairly consistently on both sides of the ball so I would expect a very good ballgame. We need a lot of folks to take the hour-and-a-half drive south and support these guys. Kickoff at Comfort High School is at 7:30. See you at the game.
