Rotary Spokes

The Brady Rotary Club met Tuesday, Oct. 23 at noon at the Heart of Texas Depot Restaurant. The club was asked by Susan Horton to consider meeting with the San Saba Rotary Club Nov. 13, at 7 p.m., at the San Saba County Museum in San Saba. The cost of the meal will be $7. There will be no noon meeting in Brady. Kris Hooten, medical student from Menard, was the guest of Dr. J.H. Allen. Program Chairman, Clay Jones discussed the Texas Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. It was formed in 1877 as Cattle Raisers Association and there are presently over 14,000 members in Texas and Oklahoma. They work with law officers in prohibiting cattle rustling, which still exists today. Jones also discussed wind energy. The $2 bill was won by Mark Magee for being the first to name a U.S. President who was left handed. His response was George Bush, Sr., with there being five others: Garfield, Truman, Ford, Reagan and Clinton. Program Chairman for Oct. 30 will be Tim Jones.
