Following a star-studded performance this past Saturday before a hometown crowd, the Famed Brady Bulldog Band, under the direction of Berry Crudgington, will travel to Belton ISD to compete in the University Interscholastic League Area D Marching Contest on Saturday. Competing in Class 2A, Brady joins 23 other school districts competing for a spot in the finals. This past Saturday at Brady’s Bulldog Stadium, the Famed Brady Bulldog Band achieved a collective first division rating under Crudgington’s direction for the 19th consecutive year in the 22-year history of his leadership at Brady High School. The first division rating led to another week of intense practice which began during class on Monday and was followed by a lengthy nighttime practice to tweak the performance. The FBBB will perform at 2 p.m. Saturday in Belton and will be joined in the 2A bracket by Hico, Itasca, Ballinger, Somerville, Salado, Mason, Rogers, Blanco, Troy, Grandview, Moody, Kerens, Hamilton, Hempstead, Rio Vista, Academy, Lexington, Wall, Schulenburg, Rosebud-Lott, Early, Clifton and Sonora. High schools competing in the Class A bracket are Winters, Chilton, Santo, Thrall, DeLeon, LBJ, Santa Anna, Iola, Schleicher, Shiner, Tolar, Thorndale and Ranger. Competition in the final round will begin at 7:30 p.m. Directions to the stadium are to follow U.S. Hwy. 190 East through Lampasas and Harker Heights and exit and go north on TX 121 Loop for approximately three miles.
