Lohn Eagles ready to start district play

With an open date last week, the Lohn Eagles took a little time to rest up, then get ready to start Division II, District 14A play. This week, the Eagles are preparing for the Zephyr Bulldogs. Currently, the Eagles are holding on to a 4-2 season record. When the Eagles were open last week, the rest of the district started district play. Here is how things turned out. Last week Paint Rock defeated Blackwell, 74-12 (5-1 overall) and 1-0 in district, and Zephyr (3-3 overall) defeated Novice (5-1 overall), 59-12 to tie Paint Rock in district at 1-0. Blackwell and Novice are both 0-1. This week Lohn travels to Zephyr, Novice at Blackwell, and Paint Rock is open. This should throw a wrench into the cog! Lohn head coach, John Santiago, sees Zephyr as quick with good speed. They will have a good all-around offensive package. Look for them to run the spread very well. The Bulldogs, coached by Landon Buffe, return four lettermen and a total of eight returnees. Last year the Bulldogs had an 8-4 season record and went to the state quarterfinals. They ended with a 4-0 district record. Players to watch include Chase Jackson, Cord Biddy, Ethan Fisher, Chris Newton, and Jason Hughes. The game will be held in Zephyr,Friday, Oct. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Get there early to get a good seat. Go out and back the Eagles!
