KNEL offers live Internet broadcast for Saturday’s band competition

On Saturday, Oct. 20, marching bands from 23 area school districts will converge at Bulldog Stadium for the annual UIL Region VII Band Marching Competition, with the Famed Brady Bulldog Band scheduled to take the field at 3:55 p.m. Again this year, families and friends of local high school band members who may not be able to attend the competition will be able to listen to the band’s performance live on the Internet. The entire band marching competition will be broadcast live on KNEL radio in Brady at 95.3 FM, and the broadcast will be carried live on the Internet through KNEL’s Web site at knelradio.com. Live broadcasts have been provided for several years, and with the addition of the Internet broadcast of the station’s programming in 2006, KNEL has expanded coverage of the UIL band marching competition to include all 23 participating schools. To listen live via the Internet, go to the KNEL Web site at www.knelradio.com and click on “Listen Live” for KNEL-FM. The Famed Brady Bulldog Band is one of 10 Class AA school bands participating in the Oct. 20 show. The day’s competition will also include 10 Class A high school bands, two Class AAA high school bands and one Class AAAA high school band. The schedule for band competition is also available at www.knelradio.com under “Local Events.”
