An annual tradition in Brady, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Fall Festival will be held Sunday, Oct. 7 at the Ed Davenport Civic Center. The event will get underway starting with the traditional German-style sausage and turkey and dressing meal at 11 a.m. The meal is priced at $7.50 for adults and $4 for children under 12 years of age. At 11 a.m., the silent auction will also get underway, along with the cake walk, country store and games for children. At 1 p.m., the big auction will commence with bidding and buying on many larger items that in years past have included deer corn, clothes, toys, ice chests, cases of motor oil and anti-freeze, barbecue pits, dinners from area restaurants, antique dishes, quilts, afghans and many other items too numerous to mention. The prize drawing for a brand new Ford F-150 crew cab pickup will conclude the auction. “At St. Patrick’s Church, we understand that many clubs and organizations are out asking for prizes and gifts, so we have decided not to go from merchant-to-merchant soliciting donations of merchandise or cash,’ said Javier Paniagua, festival chairman. “We hope that you and your business will be interested in donating something, as many of you have done in years past. Mark the date of Sunday. Oct. 7 and plan to attend our festival meal followed by an afternoon of fun and excitement. Again, thank you for your past and continued support,” Paniagua added. To donate items for the festival that can be used in the silent auction, country store or big auction, call the church office at 597-2324 or Dave or Kristi Lewis at 456-1363. Someone will stop by to pick up any donation at the donor’s convenience.
