The Brady Bulldog freshmen football team took on the Llano Yellowjackets here, Thursday night and despite a valiant effort, came home with a loss. The game was scoreless until 2:20 left on the clock in the third quarter when Llano scored on a two- yard run. The point after touchdown was no good. The next score came from Llano with 0:50 left in the game and the PAT failed again, but the game ended with Llano on top, 12-0. “This was a well played game by both teams with the score 0-0 at the half,” said coach Terry Bean. Leading rushers for the Dogs were David Hernandez with 63 yards and Chris Neal with 33. Anthony Jiminez and Isaac Conrad both had 29 yards. The defense was led by Max Meador with 11 tackles. Jayton May and Conrad both had nine tackles for the night and Sebastian Castillo had seven. “The young Bulldogs played a tough game against a very talented group from Llano,” said the coach. “We were in the game until the last 1:30 when a costly fumble gave Llano the ball on the 15 yard line. We played a lot of defense during the course of the game and the Llano offensive line just wore us down. ” I thought Meador had a good night at defensive end along with Conrad at safety.” Our next game will be this Thursday, when the young dogs take on the freshmen from Abilene Wylie with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m. rather than 5 p.m. as was previously scheduled.
