The Brady Rotary Club met Tuesday, Sept. 11, at noon at the Heart of Texas Depot Restaurant. Student Rotarian, Christina DeFiore informed the club of her plans to attend the University of Texas in Austin to major in public relations. Our new Student Rotarian is Luke Sammons, the son of Tom and Luanne Sammons. He has two brothers, Travis and Sterling, and is a member of the varsity football team where he serves as captain, varsity track team, Famed Brady Bulldog Band, Student Council (president), Interact, National Honor Society, 4-H Shooting Sports, Texas 4-H Shooting Team and K-Life. Upon graduation, he plans to attend Texas A&M University to major in land economic and real estate and minor in wildlife management. He plans to pursue a Masters degree and to succeed in whatever God has planned for his future. Program Chairman, Dayton Boren introduced Ann Shuffler, librarian at F.M. Richards Memorial Library. She informed the club that the library was built in 1955 as the County Library. Seven elected Directors govern the library. She spoke to the members about programs at the library, including children’s programs. The library takes requests for new books, and research of family history is available. The $2 bill was won by Lynn Munden for knowing that four percent of the land in California produces 50 percent of the products. Program Chairman for Sept. 18 will be Steve DeFiore.
