Caleb Ryan Bush came to this earth and joined his family for a brief moment in time, and though he was here for only a moment, he touched many lives forever. A small six pounds and two ounces, Caleb made a big impact on his family and is deeply loved and will never be forgotten. He was born at 5:43 p.m. and passed away at 8:10 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at Plano Medical Center in Plano, Tex. Caleb is the infant son of Rustin Scott Bush and Christina Faye Mathews of Plano. Having Trisomy 13 (or Patau syndrome), Caleb wasn’t given much of a chance of being born alive, but for almost three hours he filled the room with love and sharing. Caleb had a very special nurse, Gail Morgan of Plano, and she helped Caleb and the family members accept what was happening. Other survivors are a brother, David Mathews, Jr. of Plano; grandparents, Ann and Lemoine Tedrow of Menard, Charlie and Gwen Bush of Brady, Biff Bearman of Richardson and Greg and Keri Askew of Farmersville; great-grandparents, Joe and Faye Shelton of Plano, Lena Perry of Brady and Randy Bush of Silverstreet, S.C.; an aunt Marlena Bush of Brady and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins. Caleb was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Pamela Faye Bearman of Plano; a great-grandmother, Jean Bush of Silverstreet, S.C. and a great-grandfather, Marion Ray Perry of Brady. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to kambrys-light.com for Trisomy Research, the Brady Golf Association Memorial Fund or a charity of choice.
