Melinda (Mooney) Menefield, 45, of Brady, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007 in San Angelo. Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 12, from 6-8 p.m. at Leatherwood Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m. a Leatherwood Memorial Chapel with burial to follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Rev. Selester Johnson, Rev. Ernest Kirk and Rev. Vernon Jones. She was born Sept. 29, 1961, in Brady, to Alonzo Jr. and Nola (Walton) Alexander. She was a lifelong resident of Brady and a homemaker. She was a 1980 graduate of Brady High School, attended Cosmetology School in Brownwood and worked many years at Kohler in Brownwood. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church in Brady. She is survived by her mother, Nola Alexander of Brady; her spouse, Donald Menefield of Brady; a daughter, Miesha Menefield of Brady; a step- daughter, Dionne Menefield of Irving; two brothers, Jerry Alexander of Brady, Jeffrey (Chili) Alexander and wife, Shelly, of Stephenville; a step-brother, Charles Alexander and wife, Marie, of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sisters, Diane Thompson and husband, James, Fayrene DeBose and husband, Melvin, both of Brownwood; two step-sisters, Phyllis Ware and husband, John, of Memphis, Tenn., Onzia Roland of Albuquerque, N.M.; two step-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and numerous special friends. She was preceded in death by her father, a brother, Alonzo Alexander III and two sisters, Mary Ann Hays and Carol Lynn Alexander. Pallbearers will be M.C. Routt, Walter Barnes, Jeffrey Herbert, Bobby Herbert, Louis Crawford and Danny Walton. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffrey Ray Alexander, James Thompson, Robert Menefield, Melvin Winn, Frederick Weber, Eric Morgan and Barry McDonald.
