Frances Ruth Welch, 81, of Rochelle, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007 in San Angelo. Graveside services were held Saturday, Aug. 25, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Victoria, with Rev. Kenneth Barr officiating. Burial followed in Memory Gardens Mausoleum. She was born April 10, 1926, in Beckley, W. Va., to Henry H. and Celestia (Harmon) Hylton. She was married to Freeman T. Welch. She had only lived in Rochelle for a few months after living in Victoria for over 50 years. She was a registered nurse at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Victoria for 20 years, retiring in 1988. She also worked at DETAR Hospital in Victoria and was a member of John Wesley Methodist Church in Victoria. She is survived by a step-daughter, Donna Hunter of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, James Hylton and wife, Phyllis, of Rochelle; a sister, Nyla Flint and husband, Larry, of South Charleston, W. Va. and a brother-in- law. She was preceded in death by her spouse, her parents and a sister, Betty Wilkerson. Memorials may be made to Rochelle Baptist Church in Rochelle or John Wesley Methodist Church in Victoria.
