Charles and Glenda Douglas are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married Aug. 24, 1957, at the First Methodist Church in Duncanville. Their first home was in Euless, followed by Texarkana, Denison and Brady. Douglas was employed by General Motors and later by a GM dealer. Mrs. Douglas worked as a librarian in Denison and Brady schools. They have lived in Brady since 1981. Recently, they have both retired, but enjoy traveling, fishing, gardening and spending time with family. The Douglases have two children, Dana Cloy and husband, Michael, of Brownwood and Glen Douglas and wife, Nancy, of Glen Rose. They have five grandchildren, Tyler and Logan Douglas and Caitlyn, Carson and Caroline Cloy of Brownwood. To commemorate their 50th anniversary, the couple invited their children and grandchildren on a 10- day trip to New Mexico and Colorado. While there, they hiked, jeeped, four-wheeled, white water rafted, fished and toured the surrounding areas. On Friday, Aug. 24, their children hosted a family dinner at Heitmiller’s Steak House in Waco. The dinner was attended by the couple’s immediate and extended family. A cake made by Mrs. Douglas’ sister was sent to honor the couple.
