Melissa Leigh Anne Springer, 34, of Brady, died Thursday, July 26, 2007 in Tuscola. Family visitation will be held Tuesday, (today) from 6-8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home. Service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 1 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Blake O’Dell officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. Melissa was born April 20, 1973, in Des Moines, Iowa to Darwin L. and Kathleen “Kathy” (Falk) Brown. She married Brian H. Springer Oct. 2, 1993, in Hotchkiss, Co. She was assistant librarian for Brady Elementary School and a member of First Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and daughter, who was very active in church activities, including Awanas, and taught Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed scrapbooking, photography and reading. She was chairman of the Miss Heart of Texas Pageant, a member of the PTO and was a Read Naturally teacher. She is survived by her husband, Brian Springer, of Brady; two daughters, Khaitlyn Samantha and Hannah Mikayla Springer, both of Brady; her parents, Darwin and Kathy Brown of Cheyenne, Wyo.; a brother, Eric Brown and wife, B.J. and their daughter Abby of Cheyenne, Wyo.; father and mother-in-law, Jim and Kay Springer of Brady; paternal grandparents, Leland and Marguerite Brown of Cheyenne, Wyo.; maternal grandmother, Thelma Falk of Arvada, Co.; brother-in-law, Chris Springer and wife, Krissy, of Tenn.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Ernest Falk. Memorials may be made in a trust for the girls at the Commercial National Bank.
