Council, commissioners, hospital board to hear EMS presentation Wednesday

After months of researching to find the best possible solution for all parties involved, Tim Jones, administrator for the Heart of Texas Memorial Hospital, will meet with the City of Brady, McCulloch County Commissioners and the Hospital Board Wednesday for a joint discussion regarding the Emergency Management Service. The discussion item will be part of the Brady City Council’s regular agenda and will coincide with a special meeting of the Commissioners Court and Hospital Board. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the Brady National Bank Community Room. Also on the council’s agenda, is an action item concerning the location of a dog pound. The item was brought to the forefront in a previous council meeting; however, no action was taken at that time. Also, the council will consider and act on awarding a bid for golf course irrigation improvements as well as consider and act on a resolution for “commitment to loan” for such improvements. A “memorandum of understanding” between BCL of Texas and the City of Brady to approve local advisory loan committee members will also be consider and acted upon. The council will conduct two public hearings’ the first regarding the rezoning of Block 8, Lot 11-12, Rutherford-Trigg Addition, also known as 1700 San Jacinto from “SF” residential district to “MH” mobile home district (as requested by Randall Covey), and the second one regarding a special land use of Lot 357, Block 2283, Fisher & Miller & E.L. Jones Subdivision Addition, also known as 1408 South Wall to allow for a small type “A” assisted-living facility (as requested by J.B. Gouger). When both public hearings are closed, the council will consider approving each item on their first ordinance readings. Also to be considered on its first reading is an ordinance amending the Fiscal Year 2006- 2007 budget to allow for golf course irrigation improvements. Up for approval on their second and final readings are an ordinance prohibiting the creation of certain fires and discharge of certain aerial fireworks within the city limits and restricting the discharge of air guns and an ordinance amending the 2006-2007 budget to raise the rate of pay for emergency services of the City of Brady. The meeting will adjourn following the city manager’s report on department activities and the South Bridge St. renovation project and a monthly update from the city finance officer.
