TDA to host tourism workshop

The Texas Department of Agriculture is bringing a ‘blueprint for rural tourism success,’ to Brady. The Bootstrap Marketing Workshop is designed to educate, train, inspire and enhance rural tourism. The workshop will be July 17-18 in Brady at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center. Topics discussed at the workshop will be finding the real value for public events and tourism efforts, associating value with advertising, state agencies that provide tourism assistance and a variety of Internet topics, including how to create alliances and how to develop new events and build new opportunities. The workshop is designed for elected officials, tourism or travel-related businesses and economic development specialists. Here’s what folks across the state had to say about the Bootstrap Marketing Workshops: ‘Wow! I am taking tons of great ideas and info back! I loved it! Great way to jumpstart our efforts! There was enough variety to have something for everyone. It was a refreshing and motivating course.’ Registration in advance is $75 for both days or $60 for one day. Fees bump to $100 at the door. Local sponsors that help make the workshop possible are N Business Graphics, KNEL Radio and The Sam McAnally Company. The Heart of Texas Country Music Museum will host a social after Tuesday’s session with live entertainment and refreshments.
