Vera (Bea) Tucker, 88, of Brady, died Saturday, June 23, 2007, in Hondo. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 26, at 11 a.m. in the Heritage Funeral Home Chapels, Rev. Rob Watson officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in Levelland Cemetery on Wednesday, June 27, at 11 a.m. She was born Nov. 11, 1918 in Lincoln County, Okla. to Marian Clarence and Willie Ann (Roberts) James. She married Claudell Tucker who preceded her in death on 1974. She was a pastry chef and a member of the First Baptist Church. She served as president of the Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered at the Veterans Administration in Big Spring, Levelland Muscular Dystrophy and Girlstown USA. She is survived by two sons, Terry Tucker of Hondo and Ricky Don Tucker of Somerville; two daughters, Claudette Young and husband, Kenneth, of Brady and Mary Ann Dazier and husband, Billy, of Carlsbad; a sister, Wanda Lee Garner of Athens; 16 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, eight great-great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, James D. (Buddy) Tucker and Donald Lee Tucker; a daughter Ellen Sue Tucker and one grandson, Randy Ward. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Food Ministry.
