The 68th annual Miss Heart of Texas Pageant was held Saturday, June 23 in the Brady High School auditorium with 10 talented and lovely young ladies competing for the title. When the evening ended, it was Christina DeFiore, daughter of Steve and LeGrace DeFiore, who was named Miss Heart of Texas for 2007. Following in the footsteps of her mother, who won the title in 1979, Christina will wear the crown and represent Brady and McCulloch County for an entire year, until her successor is named in June of 2008. Also competing for this year’s crown were Jameson Leatherwood, Michaela Hagan, Courtney Kastner, Jonna Cook, Bailey Bozeman, Rozlin Roueche, Clarissa Lombra’a, Brittanie White and Lauren Rozelle. Joining the new Miss Heart of Texas’who replaces the 2006 queen, Whitney Neal’are Courtney Kastner and Lauren Rozelle, first and second runners-up, respectively. Selected third runner-up was Jameson Leatherwood. Brittanie White was selected ‘Most Photogenic’ by Beta Sigma Phi sorority members (sponsors for the annual event) and ‘Miss Congeniality’ which is voted on by pageant contestants. Rozlin Roueche, an incoming senior at Rochelle High School, sold the most tickets and signature ads and was recognized for her contribution.
