Frances Menchaca, 60, of Brady, died Thursday, June 7, 2007, in San Angelo. Funeral services were held Monday, June 11 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial followed at Rest Haven Cemetery under the direction of Leatherwood Memorial Chapels. Born Oct. 5, 1946, in San Saba, to M.L. Garza, Sr. and Teresa Valdez Garza, she married Rogelio Menchaca, Sept. 1, 1962, in San Saba. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of the area. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and a former member of the Guadalupanas. She enjoyed crocheting. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Angie Carson and husband, Wayne, of Amarillo; three brothers, M.L. Garza, Jr., and wife, Billie, Gilbert Garza and Fidencio Garza, all of Brady; four sisters, Alex Guzman of Brady, Janie Martinez of San Antonio, Barbara Manning of Ingram and Nancy Tobias and husband, Felipe, of Comanche; three grandchildren, Chris Solis and wife, Jessica, of Brady, Chris Carson and wife, Ann, of Round Rock, and LeeAnn Carson of Bedford; and two great-grandchildren, Adrian Oscar Solis and McKenzie Carson, both of Brady. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Toni Hernandez; a great- granddaughter, Adriaunna Solis; and her mother-in-law, Paulita Menchaca. Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
