Students speak about Washington trip

The Brady Rotary Club met June 5, at noon at the Heart of Texas Depot Restaurant with president Connie Locklear presiding. Mark Smith of Dallas was the guest of Tom Swearingen. Melissa Kerich of Granbury was also a guest. Student Rotarian, Maurico, of Mexico told of his recent trips. Program chairman, Sue Owens, introduced Angela Bierman, assistant principal at Brady Elementary, who then introduced students who recently returned from their trip to Washington, D.C. She explained about their trip and how history was explained using the Arlington Cemetery. Each student was introduced and gave a brief resume of the trip. Amelia Amyett and Ravi Karia each gave a very informative talk about their trip to D.C. There were 38 Brady students who went to Washington, D.C. this year. The $2 bill was won by Susan Delk for knowing that the Texas Tour Guide slogan in Washington, D.C. is “Walk with a purpose.” The installation banquet will be June 26 in the evening at the Depot. There will be no noon meeting on that day.
