Representing this year’s graduating class at Rochelle High School as 2007 valedictorian, with a 4.126 grade point average, is Becca Willmann, daughter of David and Cindy Willmann. She is a member of the National Honor Society, served as vice president of the senior class, attended the Lions Honor Banquet, placed third in the regional tennis meet, was a regional cross country qualifier, was selected “Most Athletic Girl” and was a member of the regional qualifying basketball team. During basketball season, she was voted “Defensive Player of the Year,” made TABC All- Region, First Team All-Region and First Team All-District. She was an area track qualifier, varsity cheerleader co-captain, UIL academic regional qualifier, a member of the Student council and was chosen “Football Sweetheart” by her peers. She has been accepted to Texas A&M University and plans to major in biomedical science. Amber Gossett, daughter of Gary and Claylene Gossett, is the 2007 salutatorian at Rochelle High School. She completes her high school education with a 4.052 GPA. Throughout her high school years at Rochelle, she received the “Principal’s Leadership Award,” was a member of the National Honor Society, served as senior class president and secretary for the Student Council. Also, she is listed on the National Honor Roll, was a Lion’s Club academic honoree, a member of the LCRA Leadership Team, attended Texas Bluebonnet Girls State, was a state track meet participant and regional cross country qualifier. She was a regional qualifier in UIL Academics, ‘ a member of the regional qualifying basketball team and varsity cheerleader co-captain. She was chosen “Football Sweetheart,” made Academic All-State, First Team All-District and Second Team All-District in basketball and was’First Alternate to the Six Man All-Star Basketball Game. Accepted at Texas State University, she plans to major in English and receive a Bachelor’s degree in arts/creative writing. Graduation exercises at Rochelle ISD will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 25 in the gymnasium. Included with the senior program will be the ceremony for the eighth grade graduates.
