In an effort to continually improve the services offered at the local hospital, Tim Jones, administrator of the Heart of Texas Memorial Hospital announced Wednesday that Kenneth Terrell, M.D., a pulmonary specialist, will begin seeing patients at the local facility. Terrell treats chronic obstructive pulmonary disease which includes bronchitis, asthma and emphysema. He also sees patients with lung cancer, pneumonia and sleep apnea. The pulmonologist is on the medical staff at Hill Country Memorial Hospital in Fredericksburg and received his M.D. from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1976. He completed an internal medicine residency there in 1979 and a fellowship in pulmonology in 1982. He is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary disease, and he is board eligible in critical care medicine. Dr. Terrell accepts patients ages 13 years and older through physician referral and will begin seeing patients at the local hospital beginning May 22.
