Rochelle High School’s Bonnie Richardson is on her way to the state track meet to compete in three seperate field events. At the regional track meet, she placed first in discus (121′), long jump (18’3.5″) and high jump (5’4″) and narrowly missed the chance to compete at state in both the 100 and 200- meter runs, coming in third in both of those events. Amber Gossett also competed at the regional level and came in fourth in the 110-meter hurdles. According to Rochelle ISD Supt. Steve Butler, “This has been the biggest year for Rochelle School,” with strong showings in a number of extracurricular activities including UIL, football, basketball, golf and track. Richardson will head to Austin Friday, May 11 to compete in the state track meet at the University of Texas.
