Alice Elizabeth Kidd, 89, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007, in Brownwood. Graveside services under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home were held Saturday, April 28 at 10 a.m. in Bethel Cemetery at Camp Air. Rev. Sheldon Johnson officiated. Born Jan. 18, 1918, to Daniel Ephram and Norma Jane (Allison) Priest in Wichita Falls, she graduated from Brady High School in 1937, and then attended nursing school at the Brady Hospital. She married George Thomas Kidd, Jr. on April 2, 1939, in Brady and moved with him to the Ford Ranch where they worked for the White family. After a short time away, they moved back and managed the Brady Creek Ranch for 36 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brady. Survivors include three sons, Tommy Kidd and wife, Pat, of Granbury, George Kidd III and wife, Margaret, of San Saba and Curtis Kidd and wife, Linda, of Lampasas; a daughter, Jana K. Kidd of Brownwood; a brother, William Priest of Flagstaff, Ariz.; four sisters, Joanna Cavin of New Braunfels, Isabell Kendricks of Indiana, and Dorothy Shirly and Loraine Price, both of Safford, Ariz.; a grandson, George (Trey) Kidd IV and wife, Roi Ann, of Houston; six granddaughters, Susan Chrane and husband, Jason, of Fort Worth, Georgann Muckleroy and husband, George of Fort Worth, Kathryn Robertson and husband, Wesley, of San Saba, Beth White and husband, Rocky, of College Station, Kate Farmer and husband, Terry, of Austin and Holly Kidd of Lampasas; five great-grandsons and four great- granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother. Pallbearers were George (Trey) Kidd, Jason Chrane, George Muckleroy, Wesley Robertson, Rocky White and Terry Farmer.
