Maria Reyes Franco, 79, of Brownwood and formerly of Brady, died Friday, April 20, 2007, in Brownwood. Funeral services were held Monday, April 23 at 2 p.m. at the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with pastor Salvador Trevino officiating. Burial followed in Live Oak Cemetery. Born March 28, 1929, in Mexico to C. and Augustina (Rodriguez) Reyes, she married Cosme Franco. She was a housekeeper for various lodging facilities and a member of the Baptist church. She loved family dinners and get- togethers and liked listening to religious music. Survivors include six daughters, Mercedes Garza and husband, Frank, of Brownwood, Maria Miranda and husband, Carlos, of Borger, Irene Franco of Amarillo, Irma Hernandez and husband, Richard, of Brownwood, Isabel Velasquez and husband, Brigido, Sr. of Borger, and Rose Sanchez and husband, Eloy, of Brownwood; three brothers, Felipe Bernal of Brady, Julio Bernal of Del Rio and Jose Bernal of Acuna, Mex.; one sister, Francisca Rodriquez of Acuna, Mex.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in November 1990, a son, Antonio Franco, and a brother, Cresencio Reyes.
