Glenda Robinson, BSH employee, dies at 69

Glenda Robinson, 69, of Brady, died Saturday, April 21, 2007, at her home in Brady. She was employed by the Brady Standard-Herald as the proofreader. Services were held Tuesday (today), April 23 at 3 p.m. at the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry M. Becknal of Cranes Mill Baptist Church officiating. Burial followed in Gooch Cemetery. Born Oct. 1, 1937, in Brady to John Leslie and Oma (Owens) Word, she married William Nelson Robinson on Nov. 21, 1958, in Mason. She graduated from Brady High School in 1955 and worked for George Carrithers during high school. After graduation, she moved to Lubbock with her husband where she worked as an assistant to the dean at Texas Tech University until retiring and moving back to Brady. She was a Worthy Matron for the Lubbock Chapter of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her husband, Nelson, of Brady; five children, Cindy McNeely, Barry Robinson and Gina Baugh and husband, Tim, all of Lubbock; John Robinson, and wife, Janna, of Cedar Park; and Rita Hinton and husband, Ronnie, of Vancleave, Miss.; two sisters, Avis Smith of Mexia and Delma Crawford of Brady; a brother, G.W. Word of Moutainburg, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
