The Rochelle Study Club held its annual friendship luncheon Saturday, April 14 at the Rochelle Community Center with 40 women in attendance. The theme for the day was “Our Heritage,” honoring study club members, past and present. Food, decor and dress reflected the 50s era. Members and guests were welcomed by president Jane Bohls, and vice-president Sara Myers gave a brief history of the Rochelle Study Club and memories of past members. Following Ms. Myers’ presentation, the ladies enjoyed a buffet luncheon at tables that were beautifully decorated with club members’ china and various antique tablecloths. Glenda Ranne, chairman of the social committee, emceed an impromptu fashion show, describing the attire of several of the ladies who were resplendent in the fashion of the 50s, including hats and gloves. Study Club members in attendance were: Gloria Barr, Dolores Barton, Jane Bohls, Sarita Cox, Margaret Draycott, Valire Engdahl, Eloise Ficke, Sue Glidden, Charlotte McDonald, Ila Mitchell, Betty Knutson, Vonnie McCain, Betty Jo Myers, Elizabeth Posey, Myrna Powell, Gwen Ragsdale, Glenda Ranne, Linda Roesler and Marilyn Waller. Guests were: Marcia Arons, Ora Banks, Ray Bever, Wynell Chesney, Virginia Gray, Winkie Hendrix, Willie Hibbs, Lorene Hurd, Carol Johnson, Mabel Jones, Fay Knutson, Betty Myer, Louise Passmore, Norma Ranne, Lee Reinisch, Madelyn Richardson, Peggy Ross, Cristina Wells and Mildred Weatherman.
