The Melvin School and Community Homecoming is scheduled to take place beginning Friday, April 20 through Sunday, April 22. Ex-students, teachers and friends of Melvin School and the community are urged to attend the three- day event and bring a guest. “We are trying to locate some of the old trophies and ask that if anyone should have one, please return them,” said Jimmy Marshall, event spokesperson. The event will take place at the Melvin Fire Department Station in downtown Melvin. A silent auction is scheduled with homemade crafts and special items. There will also be a raffle for some great prizes. RV spaces will be available on a first-come first- serve basis around the square in downtown Melvin. The schedule for this year’s homecoming is as follows: Friday, April 20 4-9 p.m.’general gathering, visiting and games with a hamburger meal including burgers, chips, dips and drinks. Please bring a dessert. Cost will be by donation. Saturday, April 21 9 a.m.’Doors open, registration begins. Cost is $5 per person. Noon’Lunch catered by Mac’s Barbecue, cost is $8 per person. 2 p.m.’Business meeting, silent auction and raffle winners will be announced, election of the 2009 president by Don Brown, 2008 president. Sunday, April 22 8-8:45 a.m.’Breakfast. Cost, by donation. 9 a.m.-‘Morning devotional by Mark Nygard, minister, Melvin EFC.
