The Rochelle Lady Hornets’ golf team advanced to the regional golf tournament Tuesday, April 3 by earning the district 12-A runner-up spot at Par Country Club. The team of Cheyenne Bartlett, Roz Roueche, Veronica Engdahl, Kayla Butler and Angel Wills shot a 467 to advance to the regional meet to be held April 23 and 24 at Maxwell Golf Course in Abilene. Bartlett led the group with a personal best of 104, followed by Roueche with a scorecard tally of 113; Veronica Engdahl, 117; Kayla Butler, 133; and Angel Wills, 135.’ Bartlett was also second overall individual, followed by Roueche in fourth; Engdahl, fifth; Butler, sixth; and Wills, seventh. “I am extremely pleased with the way the girls performed on a difficult course they have not seen before,” said girls’ golf coach Steve Butler.'”They have a great work ethic and have worked very hard this spring.’I could not be more proud of them.” The Rochelle Boys’ golf only sent two boys to district, and Luke Luttrall’s 83 earned him a chance to compete as an individual at the regional meet.’The only other boy to make the trip to district, TJ Hodges, shot a 119 but missed out on the chance to compete at regionals.
