Rotary Spokes

The Brady Rotary Club met Tuesday, April 3, at noon at the Heart of Texas Depot Restaurant. Brian Wiggins served as acting president in the absence of Connie Locklear. Rotary Exchange student, Mau, spoke of some of his learning experiences in English, such as “Hi ya’ll.” Melinda Stewart was the guest of Beck Spelce. Student Rotarian, Jonathan Fleming told of his plans to attend South Plains College and major in music. Laura Baskin is our newest Student Rotarian. She is the daughter of Rick and Leslie Baskin. She has one brother, John. She was a member of the National Honor Society, FCCLA, Student Council, SPOOKS, Youth Alive, golf, band and annual staff. She is president of the senior class, FCCLA vice- president of finance, and NHS service projects officer. She was selected as the Outstanding World History Student, top ten, Lion’s Honor Banquet and District Champion in golf. She plans to attend Texas State University and major in health care administration and be successful. Program chairman Clay Jones explained the changes that have been discussed regarding the hospital, jail and school district. He explained how these changes can be made without increasing taxes. The $2 bill was won by Bill Ricks for being the first to correctly pronounce Jeanagayle Behrens first name. Program chairman for April 10 is Tim Jones.
