The Rochelle Study Club met Monday, April 2 at the Rochelle Community Center with Phyllis Bolton and Sue Glidden as hostesses. Two “visitors” who had dropped by for a visit were introduced to the members. “Father Tim” and “Emma” discussed their home in Mitford, much to the delight of the audience. Following their presentation, members enjoyed a lively discussion of the book “At Home in Mitford” by Jan Karon, which was the club’s book of choice for discussion this year. The characters were portrayed by Jane Bohls and Linda Roesler. Glenda Ranne reminded members of the Heritage Luncheon that will be held at the Community Center April 14. Food and decor will reflect the 50’s era, and it has been suggested that members and guests dress in theme. The recent rummage sale was deemed a success by organizers and the proceeds will be used for projects to maintain the Community Center which was the original depot building in Rochelle. The building was donated to the Study Club in 1956 and moved to its current location at that time. Members will recognize the end of the club year with a dinner meeting, May 7 at Ranelle’s in Brady. Members present were: Gloria Barr, Jane Bohls, Phyllis Bolton, Sarita Cox, Valire Endahl, Eloise Ficke, Sue Glidden, Brenda Hibbs, Betty Knutson, Vonnie McCain, Sara Myers, Marilyn Powell, Glenda Ranne, Linda Roesler, Marilyn Waller and guest Jennifer Mitchell.
