The Elm Grove predator hunt has been set for March 17-18 with registration from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, in downtown Elm Grove on Hwy. 765. Registration fee will be $50 per team. Prize money will be paid for first, second and third places, any ties will be decided by coin toss. Teams may consist of no more than three people and all state and federal laws will apply. Varmints must be taken during the hours of the hunt which is from registration on Saturday to check-in time on Sunday. Varmints must be harvested from counties no more than 50 miles from Elm Grove. All fur bearing varmints become the property of Elm Grove. Wild hogs will be a separate jackpot’winner take all. Hunters must enter to win and wild hogs will be taken away by the hunter at the conclusion of the contest. Points per varmint will be as follows: mountain lion 50, coyote 20, bobcat 10, red fox 10, grey fox 10, badger 5, raccoon 2, ringtail 2, beaver 1, possum 1 and nutria 1. Check-in time is from 8-9 a.m. on Sunday at the same place as registration. No professional hunters or trappers are permitted in the contest.
