Dee M. Martin, 96, of Brady, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, in Brady. She was born July 6, 1910, in Stoney to Epheriam Curtis Rippy and Lusindia Addiline (Ferguson) Rippy. She married T. C. Martin on Dec. 12, 1923, in Stoney. She graduated from high school in Stoney and worked at Marjorie’s Fabric Shop in Denton for 30 years. She was a member of the Gateway Baptist Church in Denton. She moved to Brady in 1993. She loved to travel, read and do handwork of all types. She was known by many as “Mama Dee” or “Aunt DD.” Graveside services will be held Sunday, March 4 at 2 p.m. at Jackson Cemetery in Krum, under the direction of Leatherwood Memorial Chapels. She is survived by one son, Wilford C. Martin of Nyssa, Ore.; one daughter, Wilma Neal and husband, Don, of Brady; grandchildren, David Neal and wife, Deborah, of San Angelo, Donna McCloy and husband, Bob, of Turks Cacos Island, Connie Humphreys and husband, Charlie, of Brady, Gayla Pool and husband, David, of Plainview and Chance Lovette of Idaho. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Landon Neal, Leigh Ann Neal, Logan Neal, Carter Humphreys, Courtney Humphreys, Amy Pool, Jarod Pool and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, T.C. Martin, one daughter, Patricia Ann Lovette; her twin sister, Bee Maureen Williams and one older sister, Opal Thomas. Memorials may be made to the West Texas Rehab Center, West Texas Boys Ranch, Krum Cemetery Association or a charity of choice.
